This month, we organised a photoshoot to immortalize our strongest beer, Bar Brutal. Needless to say that we looked for a location that would perfectly match our sassy blond beer. Enter Bruut, a unique neo bistro, right in the heart of Bruges!
Located in a historical building overlooking the idyllic canals of Bruges, Bistro Bruut is a small, modern restaurant with loads of character and a casual interior design. The chef and owner, Bruno Timperman, seeks to surprise customers with original flavour combinations. In its dishes, Bruut gives terroir and Flemish traditions a contemporary twist. With its modern vision, they are renewing perspectives on food culture.
Why Bruut? Because chef Bruno Timperman likes bold and brutal! You can tell both from the distinctive flavours in his dishes as the no-nonsense decor in his restaurant. Added to the mix of vintage furniture and raw industrial materials is one dominating wall with modern graffiti by artist Dennis Beyer.
So why Bruut? Because Bistro Bruut screams brutal. No wonder our Brutal Blond was magnetically drawn to it.

On top of a strong beer and a brutal location, we managed to assemble a passionate and talented team of people to make the magic of the photoshoot work.
First, we needed models, and brutal ones too. Turns out Bruno’s bistro was not the only match as Bruno himself proved to be a perfect fit as well. He clearly enjoyed being a model for a day to promote Bar Brutal! We hit another bingo with our second model, Lynn, who posed very naturally and who, with no more than one look at the mood board, transformed herself to ooze Bar Brutal’s brutal vibe. Finally, our third perfect fit was our hand model, Miguela, whose hands were brutally elegant too.
But let’s not forget about the people behind the scenes. Comma’s creative team made the shoot a success. Creative director Wout made sure that every shot was brutally detailed. MUA, Kelly, took care that the models matched the brutal scene. And Gaelle Wy, freelance photographer, managed to make the models visually portray the character of our tasty blond beer.
Full-bodied, with a rich foam collar and a beautiful fizz. Don’t be fooled by her looks. With her 8,5%, this is the strongest beer we have brewed so far.
